About David VanGorden

My name is David VanGorden, and I am privileged to announce my candidacy for the Rancho Cucamonga City Council District 2. With over thirty years of dedicated service as a police officer and my current role as an instructor at the San Bernardino Sheriff's Academy, I have committed my career to enhancing safety, security, and the well-being of our community.

Having lived in the Inland Empire for more than 55 years and calling Rancho Cucamonga home for the past 33 years, I possess a profound understanding of the diverse needs and aspirations of our residents. My educational journey, which includes attending Chaffey High School and Chaffey College, has equipped me with the critical thinking and problem-solving skills necessary to address the challenges we face. Additionally, my experience as a small business owner in Fontana for five years has granted me valuable insights into our local economy and the vital role of supporting our business community.

As an active member of the California Republican Assembly and the Mountain View Republican Club, I am devoted to championing values that emphasize individual freedoms, personal accountability, and economic growth. I have a strong commitment to our Second Amendment rights, and I believe that the right to bear arms is a fundamental aspect of our freedoms.

If granted the opportunity to serve on the City Council, I will prioritize collaboration and transparency, working closely with residents and local leaders to cultivate an environment where our community can thrive. My focus will be on improving public safety, enhancing our parks and recreational facilities, and supporting local businesses to ensure our community remains vibrant and enjoyable for everyone.

Together, we can forge a united Rancho Cucamonga that reflects our shared values and enhances the quality of life for all residents. I sincerely ask for your support and vote to bring my experience and dedication to serving our community to the City Council. Thank you for considering my candidacy.
